LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A Lee County bank robbery suspect is caught at his home just blocks away.
The robbery happened around 11am Tuesday at the Bank of America near US 41 and Daniels Parkway in South Fort Myers.
Surveillence video showed the suspect walking up to a teller and saying “this is a robbery.” He then told her to give him her money. The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office later identified the suspect as 43 year old Robert Wickham.
Deputies say they were able to catch up with the suspect after staking the area where he lives nearby in Pine Manor. Deputies recognized him from the surveillance video. He was taken into custody without incident.
