On January 30 Herschel will be adding to stellar resume a mixed martial artist. It will be a debut at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise for Strikeforce.

Walker, 47-year-old, will be facing another MMA newcomer, Greg Nagy.

He said, “I love martial arts. I’ve loved it for years. I love the sport of it. When I saw MMA years ago, I fell in love with it.”

Walker also added further, “They’ve cleaned it up so much that it is now a mainstream sport, and I wanted to get involved in it. There are incredible athletes doing it, and I want to consider myself a good athlete, and that’s the reason I want to do it.”

Walker is a good athlete and a 6-1, 220-pound former running back with University of Georgia, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings. He holds black belt fifth degree in Tae Kwon Do and he also boasts additional training in Muay Thai and Kenpo karate.

He said, “People have to know that I love this sport [MMA], but I am green. I’m not stepping into this sport, fighting for a belt, `Oh, I want to be heavyweight champion.’ No.”

Martial artist-turned-actor QUINTON ‘RAMPAGE’ JACKSON has escaped unscathed following a car crash in California.

The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star, who appears in the upcoming big screen remake of The A-Team, was driving his new Audi in Orange County, California when his car collided with another vehicle. Both Jackson and the elderly female driver of the other car were unhurt in the accident.

He says, “I am thankful and happy no-one was hurt. I tried to make sure the elderly woman that hit my car was okay… she didn’t speak much English, but I could see she wasn’t hurt in any way. I am fine, the little old lady is fine, but my car got hurt, and for that I’m sad.”

Jackson appears alongside Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Jessica Biel in The A-Team, which is due for release later this year (10).
