Snowy mess felt in SWFL By Christina Hernandez, WINK News Story Created: Feb 9, 2010 at 6:56 PM EST Story Updated: Feb 9, 2010 at 6:56 PM EST RSW – Because of the snowy weather in the northern states, people traveling in and out of Fort Myers are also feeling the wintery mess. Marcy Hare checked the departure screens at SWFL International Airport… hoping she makes it home to Detroit. “We had a flight that was at 5:55. Now it’s at 6:46 and we’re just waiting to see what happens.” Downstairs in baggage claim, Teresa Bush was just arriving in Fort Myers – hours after she left home. “We were delayed about 40 minutes to de-ice. The weather was not pleasant in St. Louis.” But the longest delay, 3 hours, was in the Sunshine State – in Orlando. “Our connection coming from Nashville delayed us, but it was fine. We’re here. We’re happy.” If Marcy Hare doesn’t make it home to Michigan tonight, she said she’d be happy too. “We’d rather be here trying to get home then home trying to get here. We’d much rather be stuck at this end.” Next article Caught on camera: Port Charlotte smash and grab
